- 2. What is the difference between furnished accommodations and a hotel?
Fully furnished accommodations are much larger than both regular and extended stay hotel rooms and offer a more home away from home atmosphere and are significantly less expensive than a comparable hotel option for extended stays.All furnished rentals feature a fully equipped kitchen, separate dining, living and sleeping areas, ensuite laundry and more! A wide range of onsite amenities are also available, including fitness facilities, indoor pools, billiards, business centres, etc.

- 5. Can I book a reservation for less than a month?
Most properties require a 30 night stay or longer. We may be able to assist you on a shorter term basis whenever possible at specific locations permitting less than 30 night stays. Please provide your desired location, dates and the number of people who would be occupying the furnished apartment and we will provide you with the most suitable options available.
- 6. Do you offer discounts if I am staying longer than one month?
All rates offered are within current market values at time of quote. As we offer an extensive variety of furnished housing options across Canada, we are able to accommodate a wide range of budgets. However, discounts may be available for longer term stays, group requirements and higher business volume.
- 7. Are there any taxes applied to my stay?
Most jurisdictions have no applicable taxes on the rental rate for stays of 30 nights or longer. Taxes may apply whereas certain services are not always included such as parking, extra housekeeping, pet fees, etc. Applicable taxes on select items will range from 5% GST to 13% HST, varying from province to province.
- 8. Do all rentals begin on the 1st of the month and what is the standard move-in and move-out times?
Your reservation charges begin on the first day of your scheduled arrival which for most properties can be any day of the month.Move out time is a set time between 10:00 am or 11:00 am on the last day of your stay. Move in time is generally anytime after 3:00 pm or 4:00 pm on day of arrival. Should you require a later check out or earlier arrival, please let us know in advance so that we may confirm if special arrangements can be made.
- 9. What is usually included with the rental rate?
All units are fully furnished including furniture, housewares, dishwares, linens/towels, home electronics and more! Standard suite amenities included with fully furnished apartments and townhouses are private telephone line w/voicemail, cable or satellite package, hi-speed internet service, ensuite laundry and utilities. Housekeeping service is also inclusive and ranges from weekly to once per month. Just bring your personal items and enjoy all the comforts of home for a comfortable stay.Property features will vary depending on location and can include onsite fitness facilities, swimming pools, saunas, children’s play areas, business centers, meeting rooms, etc. Click here for a list of more amenities available. Furnished suites are also within walking distance to public transit, grocery stores, restaurants and entertainment. - 10. Are there any caps on internet usage or utilities?
It is becoming more and more common for properties to implement an internet usage and utility cap in order to limit excessive usage and keep rental costs and rates as beneficial as possible to clients. The cap allowance offered is sufficient to cover reasonable and average usage. Any usage caps will be outlined prior to booking.
- 11. What size furnished suites are available & how many persons are permitted to occupy a suite?
There is a wide selection of one and two-bedroom apartments featuring full kitchens and separate living areas and bedrooms. Studio and three-bedroom apartments are available at some locations. Floor plan sizes will vary. Average floor plans measure:
- 500-650 sq. ft. for one-bedroom apartments-2 persons
- 800-1300 sq. ft. for two-bedroom apartments-4 persons
- 1100-1500 sq. ft. for three-bedrooms-6 persons
There is a standard restriction set on the number of persons to occupy a suite. Your Reliant Worldwide Corporate Housing Specialist will inquire as to the number of persons requiring accommodations at time of inquiry.
- 12. Are pets welcome?
Pet-friendly options are available. Please keep in mind that these select fully furnished locations do have varying pet weight and size restrictions and pet fees and a pet damage deposit may be required. Please contact us directly to inquire about the availability of pet-friendly fully furnished options.
- 13. What are the extension requirements and do I need to extend a full month?
To ensure continued availability of your suite, the standard notice to extend is 14 days prior to your current move out date. Most properties require a month to month extension if you are unsure of your move out date. You are permitted to shorten the extended month by providing a 14 to 30 days notice of move out. If you would like to confirm your move out and require a few more days or weeks you may extend for that period of time and provide notice at time of the extension.
- 14. What is the standard cancellation policy for furnished accommodations in Canada?
Standard cancellation requires that a reservation is cancelled a minimum 14 days prior to arrival to avoid any cancellation fees. Within 14 days, a minimum of 7 to 30 night cancellation fee may apply. The cancellation policies vary by property and will be noted in the corporate housing options put forth upon your inquiry.
- 15. Do I sign an agreement?
We offer streamlined reservation forms no matter which property you book! Your Corporate Housing Specialist will provide the required forms based on your scenario, whether you are booking direct as an individual or setting up direct Corporate Billing.
- 16. Are all rates and charges invoiced in Canadian Dollars and do you accept payment in USD dollars?
All rates and charges are quoted and invoiced in CAD dollars. Reliant Worldwide requires payment in CAD funds as noted on all reservations. This allows our USD clients to have more control and manage currency exchange differences when processing payment. However, payments received in USD funds, will be cleared and payments applied will be the total CAD amount received after the currency exchange adjustment based on the financial institution issuing rate at time of posting.
- 17. What form of payment is accepted and when is payment due?
Full payment for the first 30 nights or entire stay if less than 30 nights is due at time of booking unless the reservation is made under a Corporate Account setup with Reliant Worldwide.We accept company cheques, money orders, direct deposits and major credit cards. Companies can also arrange for automatic electronic payments for all their corporate housing stays booked with Reliant Worldwide. Companies with multiple employees booked can have their bills consolidated through our streamlined billing process.
Corporate housing guests can make arrangements to have their company billed directly or an invoice can be submitted for all company employees staying with Reliant Worldwide for payment to make the process more convenient! To have your company billed provide the name and address of your company as well as the name and telephone number of the individual who will be responsible for payment. Upon their confirmation, invoices will be directed to their attention.
- 18. Do I have to pay a security deposit?
For individuals, not covered under a Corporate Guarantee or Corporate Account, a security deposit may be required, usually by way of credit card. The deposit is refundable upon move out less any long distance and/or damages if assessed and is subject to inspection and satisfactory condition of the rental and the end of your stay.
